iCab 5.0i (Beta 111) (2011/12/09)

There are two beta versions for iCab for the Mac...

The reason why there are two new version is that the new XCode-IDEs from Apple do no longer include frameworks for MacOSX 10.4 or support PowerPC, so it gets complicated to support older MacOSX releases as well.

The version 4.9 is meant for all users which still use MacOSX 10.4 (or 10.3.9 as well, though 10.3.9 is not recommended because the WebKit that is part of 19.3.9 is too old and buggy for many modern web pages). This is a pure bugfix release and includes no new features.

Version 5.0 requires at least MacOSX 10.5 (Leopard) and also includes new features.

System requirements

iCab 4.9: MacOSX 10.4.x or newer (and also MacOSX 10.3.9, though this is not recommended)

iCab 5.0: MacOSX 10.5.x or newer

New in iCab 5.0i (Beta 111, 2011/12/09)

If a web page overwrites the JavaScript standard function "getSelection()", which is used by the new search bar of iCab, then iCab will use the old search window for this web page again.
The "recent searches" list of the search field within the toolbar didn't work correctly.
AppleScript should ow work again in the 64 Bit version of iCab.

New in iCab 5.0h (Beta 110 2011/12/06)

Fixed an issue with the private mode where an entry was created in the history for certain HTTP redirections.
The "onbeforeunload" JavaScript handler is now supported
The Modules feature requires JavaScript, so now with JavaScript is switched off for a web page, the modules will be disabled for this web page as well.
Bugfix for URLs with %nn-encoded "#" character in its query part.
Adds a workaround for the latest version of the Flash Plugin, which fails to switch off the menu bar when the plugin enters the fullscreen mode. iCab now tries to detect when Flash enters the fullscreen mode and will then hide the menubar itself.
Fixes a Bug where iCab wouldn't load local Files anymore when the Offline mode was enabled.
